Congratulations to my Alma Mater- Xavier University. After the unselfish help you gave to the victims of Typhoon Sendong, being hailed as the top 7 of the Top 10 Universities in the Philippines for SY2011-2012 is just so right.

QS World University Rankings®, the most trusted university ranking in the world, has released its lists of Top 400 World’s Best Universities 2011/2012, Top 200 Asian Universities 2011/2012, and other lists of university rankings. 

The ranking of the top 200 Asian universities highlights the dynamism of the Asian region. This year, to better reflect the region’s unique character, a distinct methodology from the top 200 Asian rankings was used. QS Quacquarelli Symonds now includes indicators such as Asian academic reputation and Asian employer review.

Top 10 Philippine Universities 2011-2012

Four Philippine schools made it in the list of the Top 200 Best Asian Universities, career and education network QS reported. University of the Philippines (UP) ranked at No. 62 in Asian rankings and is placed in the 332nd rank in the list of Top 400 World’s Best Universities 2011/2012. Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) is in the 65th rank (No. 68 in May 2011 Asian rankings) and listed at No. 360 in the world rankings. UP and Ateneo were followed by University of Santo Tomas (No. 104 in Asia), and De La Salle University (No. 107 in Asia).

Nine universities occupied the 201+ ranking in Asia, which included Adamson University, Silliman University, Xavier University, University of San Carlos, Saint Louis University, Father Saturnino Urios College, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, and Mindanao State University.

Here is the list of Top 10 or Top 13 Philippine Universities 2011/2012 based on Asian University Rankings 2011 released by QS Quacquarelli Symonds, a leading global career and education network.

Central Mindanao University and Mapua Institute of Technology, ranked No. 10 and No. 11, respectively, in May 2011, were out of this edition’s university rankings.
